ANNAS cookie spread

This stuff is good.

Based on this homemade Speculoos Spread recipe, I used ANNAS cookies and switched up the canola oil for pure veg. I didn’t bother heating up the coconut oil; the spinning of the food processor blades warmed it up enough.

Never having tried Speculoos in either form (cookie and spread), I can’t say if this is comparable but, wow, is this ever good on a fresh slice of bread. This spread is certainly better than simply eating an ANNAS ginger thin, and almost comparable to dunking one into your tea or coffee.

  1. I am glad you liked the spread. Are ANNAS cookies the ones you can buy at Ikea? If yes, I think they are a perfect substitute for speculoos.

    • Yes! I happened to be at IKEA and I thought of the spread so I just bought one package — which happens to be exactly 150g — to try out your recipe. I think making little pots of this stuff would make neat little gifts for unsuspecting people.

Side bar: It’d be good to note, for others reading this, that I used the metric weight measurements.
