Help raise money for Jeunesse j’ecoute // Kid’s Help Phone tomorrow, November 22nd from 2pm to 5pm, at Cupcake Camp Montreal (3706, Notre-Dame Ouest). The $10 entry fee will get you three cupcakes and organic, fair-trade Santropol coffee. Additional cupcakes will be a scant $2 each.
I inquired as to availability of vegan cupcakes and there will be some. One person will be bringing 24 and a vegan sponsor is donating 200. Yum! What better excuse to eat cupcakes on a Sunday afternoon?

I was at the local grocery store and happened to spot this Lexus with a super-chromed out bumper. What a way to ruin a car! I assume it’s to protect his bumper from scratches. Apparently this is what you have to resort to when you drive around in a big, over-priced boat.
Once, in the same lot, there was a car parked in a handicap spot. It was more than a straight up park job, to say the least. Upon walking into the store, I noticed that the driver had actually drove into the handicap signage, leaving it askew and almost falling over, and left it parked in that exact position. Way to go.
I like my ride, so I make it a point to park away from obvious, accident-prone drivers. Doing otherwise is just asking for trouble.

Oooo.. look at that. I usually have to take the last half of an Aux Vivres sandwich home to munch on as a snack. As previously mentioned, I just discovered that Dragon Sauce makes their BLT (on chapati) a lot better. The Dragon sauce is so amazing that I could do shots of the stuff on its own. Seriously.
One day I was sitting at the counter during the crowded brunching hour and the person next to me questioned the ingredients of this magical sauce after polishing off a Dragon bowl. The girl working the counter read out, “nutritional yeast, turmeric, garlic, miso, maple syrup and flax oil”. It was pretty loud, but that’s what I heard. So there you have it.
I haven’t attempted proportions yet but if you guys figure it out, have ideas or want to share your own version, go nuts and leave a comment here.

This video doesn’t feature vegan food, rather vegetarian, but it shows promise in what you can do with a ceiling light, an iron and an electric kettle. Take that, MacGyver.
I’ve traveled a bit in Europe for business so I know how hard it is sometimes to eat well while battling jetlag. But I’ve never gone to these lengths to feed myself. I can only boast going to the nearest grocery store and buying ready-made items. I usually pick out fresh fruit, pita bread, soy yogurt, dark chocolate and anything else that’s interesting. If there are vegan-friendly frozen meals, and I have access to a microwave, I’ll take full advantage.
Which reminds me… have you ever had these soy taquitos? They’re so freaking amazing, I wish I was eating them right now… unfortunately I can’t find them here in Montreal. If anyone from Starlite Cuisine is reading this, please make this happen.
Don’t make me figure out my own recipe!
You’ve been warned.
