Ok, we fully admit that the posts have been lacking — especially food posts. So to make up for it we’re gonna go through 5 days of food. Today, it’s Speculaas cookies!

My gift-giving scheme in December proved a success, sparking a conversation with a fellow office-dweller who is Danish and remembered Speculaas from his childhood. A box of cookies was gifted to him and he was very kind to give me a sleeve. How generous was that?!

Apparently there is a German food store in the West Island that sells these cookies only during the Xmas season. I intend to find out where this place is… I bet it’s a gold mine. I’d love to find a good sauerkraut.
